Glenreagh Railway Station - Coffs Coast - New South Wales, Australia

The station is overgrown and the buildings are in poor condition. The water tank and signal frame are still present, along with some decaying rolling stock in the yard. I fell in love with this old shed, with the old station in the background and the milky way above was just sensational!

Yep. Just yes.

I've looked at one hell of a lot of photography here, for years, and I don't recall ever seeing light painting in a... rustic(?) setup quite like this. The magenta works brilliantly.

This is absolutely stunning!!! i am an aspiring photographer so I'm practically dying over here! :) Can you explain to me how you were able to get the stars and the barn? What settings do you use? How do you start to set up the shot?

I used a high ISO to allow enough light to pass through to my sensor in order to capture the static stars. I also used a wide aperture to also allow maximum light hit the sensor and exposed for 30 sec, which was just long enough to expose the scene without capturing any movement in the stars. A good torch is always handy to have with you when shooting at night, it helps see what you are doing. I use an LED headlight to shine on my subject to compose the shot. Hope that explains it for you. Thanks for your feedback :P

This is beautiful! :wow: Would you be able to tell me how you were able to catch the stars? I'm just starting out with a good camera and I don't know all its secrets yet. What settings did you use?
