Fiery Autumn Twilight by DrewHopper Fiery Autumn Twilight by DrewHopper
Beautiful twilight colours paint the sky over Sawtell Beach as a faint rainbow begins to appear above the island. Magical Autumn afternoon to be outdoors shooting, pure bliss!

I've toned down the saturation and contrast a little. Let me hear your thoughts...

It looks way unbelievable, I think the sky is to slightly too dark and the foreground is too bright and overall the contrast and saturation are too pushed for comfort.

I can see what you're saying. I think I used the wrong GND here, I will get this shot perfected sooner or later even if it means a re-shoot.

I like this shot.

more than the other recent ones.
I think if there has been anything lacking it's direction and clear movement in the image.
yes the water is moving but maybe try a shorter or even longer exposure so that it's not blurred, it's smooth. You're much better at this than I'll ever claim to be so I'm sure you'll come up with something.
As far as the color. I think that may be more of the season than anything.

Awesome! :+fav:
Maybe I would lighten up the corner with you logo a little bit.
Since there is a lot of contrast it pulls my eyes down somehow.

Cheers, Dave :)

this has the potential to be one of your best I reckon mate, epic sky and really nicely composed, I just think the saturation and contrast are a touch overcooked tbh.. wicked shot though :)

much improved, though I dunno it still lacks the Nth degree of 'wow' like some of your images have. maybe in the interests of balanced FG/sky you could add a little bit more blacks back into the sky but the saturation looks good to me now. still getting used to le Mac?

I'm familiar with mac now and loving it, so glad I switched! I guess coming from an uncalibrated monitor to this though, bit of a difference to get used to. I need new locations more than anything else, oh and that 5d2 would come in handy too :)

good good, yeah the past few shots you've post have been noticeably darker/more saturated to my eyes... almost like they're a bit 'grungy' compared with your previous work which, although usually contrasty/saturated/high impact, usually also felt kind of 'clean'. I know there's a difference between PC and Mac gamma levels, maybe something to do with that? might just be that I'm on a PC tbh and they'd look just the same as before if I was on a Mac? dunno! keep cracking anyway man, you'll figure it out soon :)

Yeah, I have heard that processed images appear a lot darker when processed on Mac. I do notice a difference though myself on Mac... I haven't been feeling it though. I have set my standards high, it's difficult to keep pumping them out.

just a thought but if in PS you go View> Proof Setup> Windows RGB that might be the way I'm seeing it on my pc.. lovely shot at any rate!
