Enter The Void by DrewHopper Enter The Void by DrewHopper
Self portrait taken under the starry night sky along side the milky-way.

Technical details:
5D Mark II, Canon 17-40L @ 20mm, 16min, f/8, ISO800
My girlfriend helped by shining an LED light on my back to light me up. I'm glad this one turned out, because I was freezing standing there still.

This is a 20 minute exposure?! Is anything photoshopped like the sky or is it all real?

Wouldn't it have been easier if she had flashed you a few times? Afterwards you could've left the scene, plus you would be less blurry.

Probably, but this was the effect I was going for. I wanted to be soft against the crisp night sky, but thanks.

Stood there for the 16min? Could just use a flash at the end to freeze you in place...I think. Nice work :)

There's also a thing called patience ;) but yeah I probably would have done that if I remembered to pack my flash. Next time :)

Very nice! I love how this came out, well done! I've been wanting to do something similar but haven't gotten around to it.
It's interesting the way you did this. Was this all one shot or multiple exposures averaged together? If it was multiple shots you would have only had to stay in one shot and then layer yourself in on photoshop later. At least that's how I always thought about of doing it.
